Hanky Panky, Bend over Shirley or Pop my Cherry?

During lockdown like most people I’ve been daydreaming about a time when we can all get out and about and visit our favourite restaurants and bars to enjoy a fabulous meal and a cocktail (or maybe two!).

Although I’m not a huge drinker, and only drink very occasionally, I do enjoy a cocktail, a glass of wine or champagne along with great conversation and lots of laughs with my Gentleman friends.

Recently a lovely gentleman compared me to a Vesper Martini, as “I am elegant, sophisticated and addictive, with a hint of danger!”

Whilst writing this blog, I wondered how the name cocktail came about……so I did a little research. The word cocktail comes from the practice of horse dealers in the 1700’s. To cock a horse’s tail and make it look spirited for a show, the dealer would give it a ginger and spice suppository. This became known as adding “cock-tail”.

If you would like to spend an hour or two sampling cocktails in one of my favourite cocktail bars then please get in touch…….the ginger suppository is optional!!

P.S. The title of the blog are names of actual cocktails, not sexual positions!
